Andalusia is a land of passion. Few places in the world experience Easter Week with the fervor and feeling it is here. Andalusian Easter Week is world-famous, and thousands of people come every year to see and experience its processions.
Córdoba, naturally, is no exception to this rule. The people of Córdoba take to the streets to experience their religious passion with all their fervor.
Processions and unmissable moments
This year, 2025, there will be a total of 38 brotherhoods that will take to the streets of Córdoba. Below we highlight some of the most important moments and processions.
- Palm Sunday (April 13, 2025)
Palm Sunday begins with the early morning presence of the Triumphal Entry Brotherhood from San Lorenzo Street. The last to leave will be the Huerto Brotherhood, also with three floats, which this year celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of its recent refoundation.
- Holy Monday (April 14, 2025)
Several processions will also take place on this day. Among the most notable is the Sentencia Brotherhood, which will march through the city center.
- Holy Tuesday (April 15, 2025)
On Holy Tuesday, we can see the processions of six brotherhoods. The first three depart almost simultaneously: the Cistercian Order from the Plaza de Capuchinos, with the Mystery of the Lord of the Blood, and the Virgin of the Angels under a canopy. The Christ of the University and the Virgin of the Presentation begin their procession from the Oath of Saint Raphael.
- Holy Wednesday to Holy Sunday (April 16, 2025, to April 20, 2025)
From Holy Wednesday to Holy Sunday, you can enjoy various street processions in Córdoba from mid-afternoon until dawn, paying special attention to the entrances and certain emblematic moments, which are repeated year after year. Many beloved corners of the city host the brotherhoods on this day.
In addition to the processions, Córdoba offers a wide range of cultural offerings during Easter Week, such as the traditional “saetas” which accompany the processions in the main churches and squares, as well as sacred music concerts held in collaboration with local groups, adding a solemn touch to the celebrations.
